Yes, I accept review copies! I cannot always guarantee a review because of timing, interests, etc., but I do at least look over everything I'm sent. For more information, send me an email or IM me via the Meebo widget further down the page.
I like to think I have fairly diverse reading interests, but I confess I especially love reading YA realistic fiction, rock star biographies, adult literary fiction, and narrative nonfiction.
Carlie, seriously, you're looking for YA set in the Midwest? I guess I better finish my book in progress. Come to think of it, I haven't read many YA books set in the MW, and I didn't even think about it ... maybe because I love NY so. OK! Kansas City, here I come! (And my adopted hometown, Iowa City ... that has plenty of short stories/novels for adults set in it thanks to the Writers' Workshop.) You are, as usual, an inspiration.
(Though ... how many YA novels have you read that are set in Oregon?)
Yrs,
Suzi
Yes, I'm always looking for YA set in the Midwest, specifically books where the Midwest setting plays an important part. I'm a native Midwesterner who's tired of all the children's books set in New York or California that act like there's nothing between New Jersey and Nevada. I grew up in Niles, Illinois and would love to see a YA book set in or around there. Mr. Was by Pete Hautman is about as close as I can get, and that was set at Niles North High School in Skokie (which shares a parking lot with the local mall).
Re: YA novels set in Oregon. I can think of a few by Blake Nelson, like GIRL and ROCK STAR, SUPERSTAR. Am not coming up with others.

Wait, there's something between NY and Cali? (Is it Florida?)
