In 24 hours I am going to be someplace with palm trees, so Librarilly Blonde will be on vacation for a week unless I'm feeling really inspired to blog (unlikely). Until then, have some links:

The Washington Post fails yet again, this time on the subject of the Newbery Award: Plot twist: The Newbery may dampen kids' reading.
Carrie Ryan, author of The Forest of Hands and Teeth, has a wonderfully intelligent reaction to a recent article in the New Yorker about YA lit. Carrie's reaction intrigues me because I am always wondering about the divide between children's and YA, and YA and adult. For even more awesome, read Sherwood Smith's reaction.

The TV Addict gives the CW its midseason report card: Three hardworking remnants from the beloved WB era (SMALLVILLE, SUPERNATURAL and ONE TREE HILL) proved you don’t need silly things like an actual marketing budget to be successful. I've been saying since August that if the CW spent half the money advertising Supernatural that it did advertising 90210, SPN would easily have twice its ratings. This is not to say SPN's ratings have been bad, because they've actually been quite good, but it's such a superior show to 90210 in terms of writing and acting that I always wondered why the CW gives it no love.

The BCCLS Teens page has been redesigned. In the interest of slow connections and fussy browsers, we've kept it simple on design and a little heavier on content. In the next few months I'm hoping to add more links, but this will suffice for now.
